My name is Alex Haller and like many of you, I am born and raised in Hawaii and I have lived in Haiku my entire life. I was fortunate to grow up in a supportive community that encouraged island values such as hard work, respect, and commitment. These values eventually lead me to become an Eagle Scout in high school, a football player in college, and a graduate with a degree in Finance from California Polytechnic State University.
I am running for the Hawai’i House of Representatives District 13 seat because I want to represent the residents of East Maui, Lana’i, and Moloka’i. I believe I am an asset to our community because I understand theories of Finance, which would put our tax dollars to best use. I know how to value future cash flows and turn them into today’s dollars. I have met with a lot of county and state elected officials over the last two years and it is evident that none of them understand theories of finance such as “Time Value of Money.”
We live in one of the most diverse communities in the world. It is natural for us to have different perspectives on issues, but our diversity does not have to lead to divisiveness. Now more than ever, our community needs a unified voice. If elected, I would work every day to bring this unified voice from our community to our Capitol. I am always open to discussion because hearing both sides of the issue leads to the best-educated decision.
Your concerns are important to me and I believe we can solve island problems together. My goal is to earn your support by exemplifying hard work, respect, and trust during my campaign. This is the least I can do to thank the community that has always supported me. Canvassing the district, sign waving along the road, and posting yard signs around our community are a few of the many ways you can help with my campaign.
I humbly ask for your support and vote on August 13th. Let’s solve island problems together. Imua, District 13.
